Mr. Cordery said “it is time that the EU agrees on an FTT. Those responsible for the crisis can’t expect citizens to bail them out and give nothing in return. They have to make a contribution to ease the burden of the crisis on the most vulnerable – an FTT would generate up to 200 billion euros each year in Europe”.
PES supports German coalition for a Financial Transaction Tax

On 14 September PES Secretary General Philip Cordery participated in a meeting organized by “Steuer gegen Armut”, a coalition of progressive NGOs in Germany asking for a financial transaction Tax (FTT).
