The PES Economic and Financial Network is chaired by Andreas Schieder (photo), State Secretary at the Federal Ministry of Finance, Austria.
The network meets twice a year, and is a well established forum of discussion within the PES family. The network involves about 150 persons from all member parties and relevant partner organizations, such as Trade Unions (ETUC, ITUC, TUAC) and research institute (FEPS, ECLM, ETUI).
Recent items debated at network meetings include: the financial reform, credit rating agencies, the tax on financial transactions, the EU2020 strategy and economic policy coordination in the eurozone.
