Active democracy
Turnout at elections is decreasing on all levels. People assume that their vote makes no real difference anymore. A democracy cannot afford low interest in politics, and afford even less, low trust in parties and politicians.
Given our social-democratic tradition we have a specific responsibility to empower people, to make them able to fully exercise their citizens’ rights.
How can we bring people closer to political decision making in times of globalisation – on a national level and in Europe?
