Au sujet du PSE

Sergei Stanishev, PES President

The PES is the most modern, innovative, and democratic European Party. Yet we are always striving to improve our structure. Our ambition is to build a progressive and fair European Union for all citizens. I am honoured to have been chosen to lead the PES during this vital period.

The PES will only be successful if we remember that our purpose is to change the world for the better, to ensure a dignified life for every individual and to achieve a fair and coherent society. My main goal is to gain peoples’ trust for this vision, and with that trust, to win the 2019 election.

The PES way out of the crisis

The PES proposal is based on a simple concept: solidarity. We believe solidarity between member states, stable finances and strong social standards are key in getting Europe back on track. This is why the PES continues to prioritize a Social Pact and an Employment Pact: to regain the trust of the people we need to put people’s needs first.

Tackling youth unemployment: a priority and a joint campaign

A central part of the PES answer to the crisis is investing in young people. We have made it our priority, together with PES Women and YES, to implement an EU-wide guarantee that ensures that each young person gets a job, an internship or further education at the latest four months after becoming unemployed.

We cannot do this without you

Share your views on the discussion forums, become a PES activist, join a city group in your zone – there are more than 150! – and learn more about our policies, about our processes and most importantly, how you can get involved.

Together, let's make a difference and get Europe working again.
