PES: France and Nice can count on our full solidarity

Stanishev stressed the importance of a stronger European cooperation against the threat of terrorism: “We, the European socialists, have been pleading for stronger cooperation of our national intelligence services, for more integration. I think the time has come to set aside any differences and mistrust and start to effectively work together for the security of all our citizens. Global threats require global solutions.”

In the morning after the attack in Nice the President of the PES sent a condolence letter to the leader of the French Socialist Party JeanChristophe Cambadélis.
“Horror has struck France, the homeland of Human Rights, once again, on the day where families and friends had come together to celebrate the 14 July. I hereby would like to express to you the support of all our European comrades in this ordeal. I join the words of President
François Hollande, ‘France will be stronger than terrorism.”, Stanishev wrote in the letter.

“The French national motto – liberté, égalité, fraternité – is not just a slogan. It is a sincere believe not only for the people in France, but for all progressive people in Europe”, he added.
