“With a strong Social Democratic Commissioner responsible for this important area, we see a progressive development in the coming years”, said Mr. Stanishev.
A main topic of the discussions was the Millennium Development Goals and the eradication of poverty in the context of sustainable development. The PES President concluded that; “the PES will support commissioner Mimica and work together with him and other social democratic commissioners to ensure EU policy is built on strong progressive principles”.
