“Franz Timmermans will be one of the key representatives of the socialist family in the future Commission”, said Stanishev. The former Dutch foreign minister and PvDA member has a portfolio which covers Better Regulation, Inter-Institutional Relations, the Rule of Law the Charter of Fundamental Rights and sustainable development.
“During the hearing Timmermans showed a clear vision for the creation of a better approach to EU regulation and removal of administrative burdens for small and medium businesses. These changes will contribute to rapid economic growth and job creation” – emphasized the PES President.
