The Party of European Socialists (PES) adopted unanimously the Fundamental Programme at its Council in Sofia. The programme, the first of its kind, outlines the Party’s policy goals for the future of Europeans and the European Union for the coming years. After adopting its Declaration of Principles, this is the second step of the open policy-renewal process that the Party launched in 2009. The PES now has a solid and engaged platform for elaborating a strong manifesto for the 2014 European elections.
