In solidarity with the victims of Kenya massacre
Giacomo Filbeck, Deputy Secretary General of the Party of European Socialists (PES) said: "The massacre of Christian students in Kenya has shown us once again that culture and education are under attack from terrorists, threatened by these fundamental values. Last week, displaying a horrifying lack of humanity, a Somali Al Shabab group singled out the Christian students from the Muslim ones at Garissa University College in Kenya, before killing 147 of them. All the barbaric cruelties we have seen in this recent period are perpetrated by different criminal organizations but their appetite for terror, as with their abuse of Islam, is the same. Regardless of proximity, we must stand united against fear - helping those more exposed to attacks to defend themselves."
