PES President Demands Reaction from Belgian PM to Ministers’ Provocative Actions
PES President Sergei Stanishev today strongly criticised the actions of two Belgian Ministers who have sparked concern with their actions as regards Nazi collaboration in Belgium during World War II. Stanishev called for the Belgian Prime Minister to publicly condemn them. The Ministers’ comments and relationships have caused great concern among the Belgian public, and cast a shadow over the new Conservative-Liberal Government.
Sergei Stanishev said: “This behaviour is inexcusable in a modern European democracy. The Ministers must explain themselves, and the Liberal Prime Minister Charles Michel must also make clear that he will not accept these kind of associations from Ministers in his Government.”
