The PES adopted a resolution calling for the reinforcement of progressive action in youth policies. Our political family highlighted the need for more investments for children and youth, for making education and training accessible to all and to improve the participation of children and young people in all aspects of life.
07/12/2018 Equal societies: Social Europe, Congress Resolution
The European economy is showing sluggish signs of economic recovery. Tax evasion and fraud bite off national budgets. The protective fence of the euro is not yet complete. Outlining the main features of a New Social Contract for Europe, this Congress-adopted resolution sets out the employment and social agenda of the PES in the run-up to the 2019 European elections.

This document - Combatting Inequality in the European Union - puts forward PES proposals for more equal societies. It analyses income and wealth inequality, EU policy-making, cohesion policy, financialisation, corporate governance, the workplace, the digital revolution, austerity, tax competition and social, gender and intergenerational inequalities.

As we approach the 30th anniversary of the introduction of Cohesion policy - one of the landmarks of European integration - PES Cohesion ministers outline seven principles to ensure the EU’s best investment policy remains ambitious beyond 2020. This Declaration includes discussion on the future Multiannual Financial Framework, the impact of the financial crisis, key investment areas for Europe, the needs of different European regions, and more.
