Karolina Leakovic is since 2015 Vice-President of Party of European Socialists Women. She is also Vice-President of Social Democratic Women’s Forum, International Secretary of SDP Croatia and Member of Croatian Parliament.
Karolina is Graduated from the Academy of Dramatic Art, University of Zagreb, and from Faculty of Political Science, Journalism Department, from the London School of Public Relations.
She is, among other things, the founder of the informal “Politics to Women!” programme, in partnership with Friedrich Ebert Foundation offices for Croatia and Slovenia; the co-founder of Political Academy New Society - an informal education programme aiming at promoting democracy and citizens’ involvement in policy and issue-making in Croatia and region. Karolina has been lecturer, trainer and mentor for the NDI in different countries, as well as at the “Women’s Studies”, the Centre for Women’s Studies in Zagreb and the Equality Academy. She has also participated in numerous conferences, seminars, education programmes, both as a trainer and lecturer in Europe and North Africa. She is the Lead Drafter of the Paper “Roadmap Towards a Gender Sensitive Parliament of Montenegro and has contributed to the publication of several books with her articles on women issues.
