“Our progressive vision on asylum and migration is all about protection and inclusion of native citizens and newcomers alike. This is not only a policy of solidarity, this will also strengthen our societies in the long run.”

Different tools for the integration of migrant such as weekend or summer schools or homework support were discussed at the conference, which was closed by the Maltese Minister of European Affairs and Equality Edward Zammit Lewis.

Zammit Lewis said:

“As Minister for Equality, I will leave no stone unturned to ensure that migrant children in Malta enjoy the same rights and opportunities to excel and to retain hope of a bright successful future founded on social justice for all.”

“This is a promise which should lie at the core of every socialist’s political conviction, and which should guide each and every decision we take”.

“For when we speak of future generations, any distinction we dare make is at our own peril. Diversity is our strength, and that is what I will stand for”.
