Katrine Skov has been a local councillor for the Gladsaxe City Council (city outside Copenhague) since 2005. She actively works to improve gender equality in Denmark. She was a founder of the Helga Network for SD women - named after Helga Larsen, a former politician in the Danish Parliament. The Network strives for equality between genders and to increase the share of women representatives in politics. She is also a member of the SD committee for Gender and Equality, which supports the development of gender equality policies in cooperation with elected politicians and the party organization. Both the committee and the Helga Network are partners with the Party Secretary and work in order to increase the number of women in politics.
Katrine supports women in politics through a mentoring project between Czech Republic and Denmark/ Norway and worked as a volunteer in Africa and Asia, as part of a DIPD program (Danish Institute for Parties and Democracy), facilitating workshops for sister-party SWADEPA in Swaziland and for women politicians from different parties in Myanmar.
